Here's My Story, And I'm Sticking To It.

This site is my attempt at providing a repository of fly fishing stories, pictures and information as well as a jumping off point to other sites of interest to the fly fisherman.

My interest in fly fishing started at 13 after reading an Arizona Outdoors column by Bob Hirsch. Said article described large brook trout, peacock lady flies and a lake in Eastern Arizona's White Mountains which shall remain nameless. Further fueling the fire was a trip to said lake, meeting said man and receiving 2 of said fly w/ a casting bubble and instruction on how to fish them. From there I was in, hooked for life.

Fast-forward to today: at 33, I've given guiding a go, taken trips to 'holy' lands in search of 'holy' waters, caught lots of fish, seen amazing things, met amazing people, and ended up back where I started - not knowing whether I want to make a career out of this or not.

One thing I do know after 20+ years of fly fishing therapy is that the 'quiet sport' is my greatest passion. It's seen me through some fairly rough times, and hopefully it will be there for me till the end, God willing.

I'm beginning to think that sharing this pastime with others might make for a better retirement than career. Until then I will just share it this way, in hopes that you might see the same beauty and grace that I do everytime I pick up a fly rod.

Amazingly enough, fly fishing isn't the only thing on my mind; check out links below for a further idea of what makes me tick.
