West '05 Trip - Day 22

The fishing was much better today. Peace and quiet do a body's nerves well.
Yankee Jim Canyon's boulder-strewn banks however are not very good on the nerves, yet combined with fly fishing for its fishie inhabitants, a balance is achieved which then serves to calm nerves even further. A swell paradox, indeed.
A few very nice fish came to hand, mostly Yellowstone cutthroats with a brown and rainbow to fill things in nicely. I even enjoyed catching a few whiteys today, much to my dismay. One of the damn things even came up and hit the dry. Some people claim that whitefish don't feed on top; those people are officially full of it.
One of the more satisfying moments of the day came when I stalked a larger cutt from a high ledge, getting him on first cast. Just after that came the largest of the day, another cutt at 16".
Nice day to be alive!
